These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of lightheartedcandleco.com and to orders placed directly through our website. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Lighthearted Candle Company (“Lighthearted,” “LCC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) sells the products shown on our website, including candles, wax melts, Everything Sprays, cleaning products, foaming hand soaps, artwork, and other goods. Separate terms may apply to wholesale orders, orders placed through third-party marketplaces, or transactions covered by a separate written agreement.

1. Using Our Website

You agree to use our website lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, transmit harmful code, or misuse the website or its content.

You are responsible for providing accurate information when placing an order or contacting us. We may restrict access to the website when reasonably necessary to protect its security, prevent misuse, or maintain its operation.

2. Products, Descriptions, and Availability

We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately. Product colors and appearance can vary by screen and device. Because some of our labels feature original hand-painted artwork, minor variations may occur.

Scent descriptions are intended to help you understand a fragrance. Individual experiences and preferences vary. Please read and follow the directions and safety information provided with each product.

Products, descriptions, and availability may change. We may discontinue products or limit quantities. Promotions and discounts are subject to the terms stated with each offer.

3. Prices and Orders

Prices, applicable taxes, shipping charges, and available payment methods are shown during checkout. The price shown for your order at checkout applies to that order.

Submitting an order is a request to purchase the items in your cart. We may decline or cancel an order before fulfillment for reasons such as an item being unavailable, a payment issue, a destination we cannot ship to, suspected fraud, or a material product-description or pricing error. If we cancel an order after collecting payment, we will refund the amount paid for the canceled order to the original payment method.

An order confirmation acknowledges receipt of your order. If we need more information or need to change or cancel an order, we will contact you using the information provided at checkout.

4. Payment and Taxes

Payment is processed using the payment method selected at checkout. You authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the amount shown for your order.

You are responsible for providing complete and accurate payment and billing information. Taxes and other charges are calculated and displayed at checkout when applicable.

5. Shipping and Delivery

We currently ship to U.S. destinations available at checkout and do not currently offer international shipping. Standard shipping is sent using USPS Ground Advantage. The standard shipping rate is $5, and qualifying domestic orders of $75 or more receive free standard shipping. Checkout displays the shipping charge and whether an order qualifies for free shipping.

Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days. USPS estimates Ground Advantage delivery at 2–5 business days after it receives a package. Processing and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. See our Shipping Policy for details about tracking, delivery issues, address changes, and damaged packages.

6. Returns, Refunds, and Damaged Items

Our Refund Policy explains which items and situations are eligible, how to submit a request, and any applicable deadlines or documentation requirements. Please review it before placing an order.

If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within the timeframe stated in the Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information. It also describes available privacy choices, including data-sharing opt-out options where applicable.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the website and its content—including text, photographs, product descriptions, logos, trademarks, and original label artwork—belong to Lighthearted Candle Company, Lindsay MacDonald, or the applicable rights holder.

You may use website content for personal, noncommercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially use our content without permission from the rights holder.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website is hosted by Shopify and may use third-party services to support store features, payments, shipping, reviews, analytics, or other functions. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices, as described further in our Privacy Policy.

Our website may link to third-party websites. We do not control those websites, and a link does not mean that we endorse their content or practices.

10. Website Availability

We work to keep our website available and accurate, but access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, updates, technical problems, or other reasons. Website features and content may change over time.

11. Governing Law and Questions

These Terms are governed by the laws of Indiana, except where the law that applies to you requires otherwise. This section does not limit consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
