At Lighthearted Candle Company, our hope has always been to create something that brings joy into your home — something that feels meaningful, not just beautiful.

From the very beginning, we’ve believed that what we’re building could be about more than just candles and artwork. That it could be something that connects people, creates moments, and maybe even makes a small difference along the way.

This campaign began with a simple, unexpected conversation.

At one of our markets, we met a customer who just happened to work with the United Way. She fell in love with our candles, and as we talked, we quickly realized there was something deeper connecting what we do and the work they’re doing in our community.

For me, it felt especially meaningful.

Before this chapter of life, I spent six years as a high school English teacher. Books, stories, and the power of imagination have always been a huge part of who I am. After stepping away from teaching to stay home with our girls, and eventually building this business, I never imagined those two parts of my life would come together in this way. But they have.

Through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, our family has experienced firsthand what a gift it is to receive a new book in the mail each month. Our girls absolutely light up when their “Dolly book” arrives — it’s become one of their favorite traditions.

We are incredibly blessed to have access to books in so many ways — through our own collection, through gifts, and through the library. But not every child is given that same opportunity. And yet, every child deserves it.

Because books do so much more than fill a shelf.

They create dreams. | They spark imagination. | They build confidence, curiosity, and possibility.

Books have had a profound impact on my life, and it means more than I can say to be part of something that helps bring that same opportunity to other children.

This campaign is our way of giving back — and we’re so grateful that you’re a part of it.
